Gierlings Velpor
Founded in 1808 in Germany and acquired by the Lantal Group in 2017, Gierlings Velpor has more than 200 years of history. Gierlings Vel por is one of Europe's leading players in velvet and synthetic leather for fashion, technical fabrics, upholstery and transportation, and "is a supplier to some of the world's most prestigious fashion, design and decoration brands". The production process includes weaving, dyeing, printing and finishing and the development laboratory.
The Santo Tirso company employs a further 120 workers, with around 90% of its production allocated to exports.
