Steam generation

Steam is a versatile resource that is widely used in many industries. It is typically used for heating, sterilization and power generation processes.

Ewen provides the service of Technical Audits to Thermal Power Plants, and their distribution network, through the characterization of the thermal energy consumed by steam or thermofluid generators, proposing the necessary solutions to minimize costs.

The methodology we follow to improve steam utilization

• Performance evaluation of steam and/or thermofluid generators;
• Electrical consumption records for pumps and fans;
• Registering the flow of water to the boiler;
• Critical assessment of existing steam and/or thermofluid networks (sizing and insulation), and any recommendations for revamping/alterations;
• Identification and characterization of consumers;
• Critical assessment of the adequacy of generators in relation to real needs;
• Survey and Inspection of Steam Traps, Steam and Condensate System;
• Thermographic analysis of steam distribution network;
• Identification of Energy Cost Reduction Measures, with preparation of the respective economic feasibility study.
