In the cork industry, the use of dedusting systems is common in several industrial processes. Under the SGCIE, Ewen carried out an energy audit for the Amorim Group and recommended the implementation of several energy efficiency measures.
Energy Efficiency in the Amorim Group
One of the recommended improvements involved the installation of automatic cut-off dampers and the installation of an electronic variable speed drive in the dedusting system: The project exceeded the initial target by 10%.
Operating manuals for the new components have also been issued and training has been given to machine operators.
